I have always had an interest in vintage! This first started after graduating and entering into the world of fashion design. We would often hire or buy vintage clothing to take inspiration from and create new designs. Perhaps a vintage garment would have an incredible sleeve shape or collar detail that we could use when designing a modern garment ready for the high street. These vintage garments would also be used for colour inspiration or to highlight the overall feel of a trend that was emerging.

We would hire these items of clothing from either specialist companies or we would set out to source our own. I have been lucky enough to travel the world shopping for both new and old garments, my design job has taken me from LA's Rose Bowl - the biggest vintage flea market in the world, to street markets in India selling the most incredible soft furnishings.

My vintage love continued to grow after I bought my first house, a Victorian semi where I set about reinstating as many original features as possible such as beautiful cast iron fireplaces and ceiling roses.

Winterborne Hire & Styling is a vintage lovers dream come true. We love to seek out vintage treasures and use these beautiful pieces as props for your special day. We source the majority of our wedding props from local auctions. We love the thrill of bidding on an item we really love and winning it! Recently we rebranded from Winterborne Vintage to Winterborne Hire & Styling. Although we remain predominately vintage it's no longer all we offer.

It is also extremely important to us to be as sustainable as possible and push for a more sustainable vision for the future of the wedding industry. Sourcing vintage wedding props is saving a lot of items from landfill and giving them another lease of life. The wedding industry is becoming increasingly more throw away with couples being able to buy items for bargain prices, use it once for their wedding day to then simply discard them.
